Restricted Data Environments
Restricted Data Environments provide research teams with secure collaborative analytics environments that provide controlled access, enabling sharing of sensitive health data.
Restricted Data Environments (RDENs) have been developed by Indoc Research to access and analyze sensitive health data. RDENs provide varying levels of administrative and technological controls to meet the specific data privacy and security requirements of health data providers including prescribed entities as per Ontario Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (“PHIPA”). Each RDEN can be customized upon deployment to meet the contractual privacy and security obligations of the research teams to the approving data providers.
RDENs have been developed for several research teams including: the Better Access and Care for Complex Needs (BeACCoN) SPOR Network, Diabetes Action Canada as well as Vector and Fields Institutes.
